You need a good tour guide if you wish to experience more about the Battles of the Great war and the Second World War ~ A good guide will know more than just a “scripted” tour, and bring the Battlefield to life.

Stories of troops, little snippets about life in the front line and the Battle plan, all make a guided tour a true Battlefield Tour.

I have broken this page of guides into the areas that they specialise in.

Dr Thomson’s Tours

We stay in comfortable hotels in the region. The history, context, and significance of all we shall see will be very clearly explained by your Guide Dr Andrew Thomson (see Home Page and also More About Us on www.drttours.co.uk ) On all of our trips we are of course happy to accommodate specific requests, and to adjust the schedule depending on the weather and circumstances / preferences.

Short days ago we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie - in Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe; To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die, we shall not sleep, though poppies grow..... In Flanders fields....
